Tokyo Big Sight, Japan was the venue for Software Development Expo and Conference (SODEC) 22nd Software Development Expo. The event lasted for 3 days from May 8 - 10, 2013.

The event was participated by more than 1,206 companies and 84, 540 visitors from all over the world. Exhibiting companies from the Philippines, including our very own Alliance Software Inc., consisted of: Visual Paradigm International Ltd, Vasdaq Holdings, Inc, Ubiquitous Technologies Philippines, Sumitomo Electric Information Systems Co. Ltd, Shanghai Baosight Software Co. Ltd, Pointwest Technologies Corp, Nittetsu Hitachi Systems Engineering Inc, Miroku Jyoho Service Co. Ltd. They showcased innovative products and services related to software development techniques and maintenance strategies.

Key speakers during the event highlighted Philippines' competitive edge in the industry.

Mr. Noguchi - President of KLab Cyscorpions a social applications development company in the Philippines emphasized the advantages of the Philippines such as English Proficiency and cost competitiveness. He also made mention that the Philippines should be considered not only as an offshore development location but also as a gateway to global market. The seminar venue was filled with about 150 audience.

Ms. Patricia Abejo - DOST-ICTO Director and PSIA Board Member, presented that the Philippines BPO industry revenue in 2012 was about US$13 billion and the target for 2016 is US$ 25 billions. Then, she asserted that the industry's revenue from Japan market is only 5% now and the Philippines would like to increase this share.

Furthermore, PSIA president Ms. Noya Terrado shared that nine (9) Philippine companies implemented Japan originated IT Skill Standard created by the IPA (IT Promotion Agency of Japan).

SODEC is Japan's largest exhibition featuring a variety of products for development, operation and maintenance of software. A great number of managers in information systems department and software development visit SODEC every year to conduct business discussions face to face with exhibitors.

Attended by Alliance's Chief Executives, Mr. Robert Cheng - President and CEO and Mr. Sherwin Yu - Chief Operations Officer, this event is the most anticipated and biggest in the world of IT and Software Development.
