Graduates from the University of Cebu (UC), Cebu Institute of Technology-University (CIT-U), and University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJR) showed nothing but pride and smiles after they successfully completed the Alliance Jumpstart and Nihongo Programs last March 8, 2019; March 15, 2019; and March 16, 2019; March 8, 15 and 16, 2019 in CIT-U , UC, and USJR , respectively.
The commencement ceremony was graced by the school’s deans, faculty, Alliance’s management team, Business Unit (BU) heads and Alliance team members. Each of them gave inspiring speeches focusing on the expectations as the new graduates join industry. The graduates, in turn, shared their reflection and experiences from the program. They expressed how the Jumpstart Program challenged them and taught them not only on an IT aspect but also tips and tricks to handle life after college. They especially stressed on how they learned to manage their time and to be a better teammate.
They also added how the bond between their batchmates and teammates are now stronger because of the tasks they have gone through together.
Graduates from USJ-R also gave a tribute to Ishii Takashi, their sensei or Nihongo mentor, during the ceremony. “The students, through the program, learn to think and see skill application in situations outside their classroom. They realize best practices that they can apply in their academe experience to further prepare them for what’s to come in the future,” says HR Senior HR Specialist – Training and Development, Giselle Mabunga.
Alliance’s program linkages with the following schools were established in 2002 for CIT-U and 2014 for both UC and USJR. The programs are one of Alliance’s many efforts to further bridge the gap between the industry and academic institutions.
