Alliance kicked off its 3rd Sportsfest competitions last October 16, 2019 at the Alta Vista-Golf and Country Club Cebu.
Spectators at the 3,000-seat venue enjoyed presentations, emphasizing the spirit of sportsmanship, all performed by Alliance employees.
Four teams from different business units participated in this year’s competition, which included major events like basketball, volleyball, and badminton on top of board games like chess and scrabble. Mobile Legends was also officially a spin-off title in the sports festival.
STEAM Cup competitions also showcased the use of robotic kits in exploring engineering knowledge through practical courses. It was opened to non-players during the event for the competency challenge, skills enhancement and general enjoyment.
Additionally, the cheering contest and Ms. Sportsfest awards were also up for grabs– snagged by DiaBlue and Red Horse, respectively. DiaBlue won the overall championship title, followed by Red Horse (1st Place), White Rabbit (2nd Place) and Black team (3rd Place).
With the goal of improving productivity and well-being, sporting events reduce stress and develop team cohesion among employees.
“Sportsfest is important in Alliance to foster camaraderie and to promote a healthy lifestyle. Having a sedentary lifestyle is really common to our employees. Through Sportsfest we can improve the overall outlook of our employees by joining their preferred sports and being in the moment during the games.” Sportsfest chairman and HR-EEC Charisma Dacua said.
Alliance continues to organize corporate sports and events to generate more employee engagement in line with its LiveIT campaign to promote work-life balance.
